The next-generation spider design allows the chainring to rotate backward, decoupling the rider from the forces of pedal feedback. The result is a quieter bike with reduced chain turbulence and noise, allowing riders to stay fully focused on the trail ahead.
It allows riders to be more confident by unlocking greater stability while braking and cornering, boosting control on rough terrain. The external travel adjust lets riders fine-tune the degrees of travel—choose between Lock 3°, 6°, 9°, or 12° to match terrain, riding style, and bike setup. And because Ochain is mounted on the crankset, those degrees aren’t multiplied by the gear ratio jumps of wide-range cassettes.

The Ochain R is an active spider designed to reduce the effects of chain growth and pedal kickback on full-suspension mountain bikes. By allowing controlled rotation at the spider, Ochain helps separate suspension movement from the crankset, giving the bike a smoother, more chainless feel through rough terrain, braking bumps, rocks, roots, and big compressions.
The R version features external travel adjustment, allowing riders to fine tune the amount of spider rotation between 4, 6, 9, and 12 degrees. This lets you balance suspension sensitivity, pedal feedback, and pedaling efficiency based on the trail, riding style, or bike setup. The updated B1 version also includes the new Easy System adjuster with improved impact, longevity, and contamination resistance.
