The Specialized Crux DSW Frameset Silver Dust brings the lightweight, responsive performance of the carbon Crux platform to an advanced alloy frame. Using Specialized's patented D’Aluisio Smartweld (DSW) technology, the Crux DSW combines low weight, impressive tyre clearance and responsive gravel handling in a high-performance alloy package.
At just 1399g for the raw, unpainted 56cm frame in the lightest colourway, the Crux DSW is exceptionally light for an alloy gravel frame. Production frame weights will vary depending on size, finish and colourway.
The Crux DSW delivers the same impressive tyre clearance as its carbon sibling, accommodating tyres up to 47mm and up to 2.1 inches on 650b wheels. This generous clearance gives the frameset the versatility to tackle everything from fast gravel roads to rougher mixed-surface terrain.
The frameset combines the lightweight DSW alloy frame with a FACT 12r Crux carbon fork, providing a premium foundation for a custom gravel build.
Specialized's D’Aluisio Smartweld process uses hydroforming to precisely match tube-to-tube joints, allowing for stronger and more efficient welds. The technology helps create a lighter and highly responsive alloy structure, including a unique single-piece downtube and bottom bracket design.
The result is a gravel frameset that is nimble, supple and reactive. Responsive at the pedals and comfortable through the saddle, the Crux DSW combines performance gravel geometry with a race-influenced fit inspired by the Crux's cyclocross heritage.
