36 point engagement is ideal for more engagement over the standard 18t option fitted to most hubs, and will marginally increase resistance/drag in the hub, but no where near as much as the 54t option.
Note;- two ratchets shown in image, however these are sold INDIVIDUALLY, so you will need to order 2 of these to make a pair for each hub upgrade/installation.
